About the event

The Heartland College Showcase started in Kansas City in 1997 as one of the first College Showcases in the Midwest. Over the years it has served as a conduit to providing teams and players opportunities to be seen by college coaches and to play top competition across the country. In the fall of 2023 USA Softball of Kansas City and Top Gun Events wanted to come together and collaborate and build something special for the softball community. With the long history and guidance of USAS-KC and the expertise in running elite next level showcase Top Gun Events we are using the Heartland College Showcase to re imagine the event to host two divisions meeting the needs of all involved.

Application-Only Format

The Heartland College Showcase will have an application that all teams will fill out. Teams will have the ability to select being in the open event or going through the application process. Teams electing to go through the application process will be placed by the Top Gun Events Selection Committee in the appropriate division. This ensures that the competition is of the highest quality at each division. Teams interested in participating will need to submit their application and wait for notification regarding their acceptance.

Two Divisions: Open and Invitational

The Heartland College Showcase offers two distinct divisions: Open and Application/Invitational based. Teams will be placed in the appropriate division based on their skills and qualifications. The Open division provides an opportunity for teams to compete at a high level, while the Invitational division is reserved for top-tier teams looking for even more challenging competition.

TEAMS WILL BE SPLIT INTO INVITE AND OPEN DIVISION BY MARCH 1

Prospects Game

As part of the Heartland College Showcase, we will offer an opportunity for uncommitted Juniors (2026) and Seniors (2025) to play two additional games and run through skills and drills that will record the athletes metrics. These will be stores and viewable on tagup. To be entered into the Prospect Games, athletes can register at https://tagupsoftball.com/event/camp/223/

Additional fees apply.

Next-Gen Registration and Exposure

At the Heartland College Showcase, we embrace cutting-edge technology and innovation to give participants the best experience possible. Our partnership with tagup ensures next-gen registration processes, allowing teams to easily apply and stay connected throughout the event. Furthermore, tagup provides comprehensive video coverage and exposure opportunities, ensuring that athletes get the recognition they deserve.
